John 16:1 "I have told you these things so that you won't abandon your faith."
Today, I recommend that you take out time sometime this weekend to study this Scripture and the entire chapter of John 16. Jesus was spitting some real hardcore truth to His disciples that are just as true today as they were then.
I am amazed, He knew that we were gonna face real tough times that'd challenge our faith in Him to the very core. He even knew that these challenges could be so strong that they tempt us so greatly to "abandon" our faith. He didn't mince words, we were to face crazy and unbelievably tough times simply because we love Him and have chosen to live by His word.
In John 16:2, He said, "For you will be expelled from the synagogues, and the time is coming when those who kill you will think they are doing a holy service for God". That's how bad it's gotten for some of us around the world. People killing Christians thinking they're doing God a favour.
Your case might be different though, maybe it's not persecution but challenging situations to your faith such as health issues, need for money, marital problems etc. These situations could get so bad sometimes you just feel like throwing the towel in on God. Well relax!!! Just chill for a bit!
With Jesus everything always ends with you as winner. The verses 20-22 talk of sudden wonderful joy that'd envelope you if you'd just stick in little while longer and do what the Word says. And this joy, no man, situation or circumstance can take away from you! You're ahead and not behind, progressing and not regressing, on top and not beneath! Cheer up Jesus got your back!
The chapter ends with Jesus saying this: "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world".
In Him, you have overcome the world too! Ask today, what you want from the father in the name of Jesus and it's yours. Ask Him not desperately but as a prince asks of a king! So Cheer up! Cheer up!! Cheer up!!!ππππ
