PLB Editorial- The Person of Jesus

History does record that Jesus as revealed in the Bible actually did exist. It shocks me to hear some grown up people thinking that Jesus was all a work of fiction. Some even think that the whole of the Bible is just a bunch of nursery school stories. I wish they did some research in secular human history to find out that all these personalities in the Bible like Abraham, Moses, David, the prophets along with all the events that happened with them were all one hundred percent actual and factual.

Jesus was real, and is still real. The miracles He performed actually happened- even other "faiths" acknowledge this. He is not a fictional piece of some brilliant story teller. He is real and everything the Bible says of Him is incredibly true and the Bible claims that He did even much more miracles than could ever be recorded.

Beyond His power is His person. He is God in a body, wisdom in a body, love in a body, glory personified. I get amazed every time I read the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) about His awesome personality. His Words were too wise, His love was liquid and solid, He extended grace to everyone that came to Him. He shunned evil, injustice, wickedness and abberations of godliness yet forgave even when the people thought they were doing God a favour through wickedness. His revelations of God were new and never before heard or seen yet true. He related with people so wisely, they were often left bewildered at His wisdom and abilities. He had wise words all the time, His teachings were revolutionary, He was perfect.

His eyes beamed love. Though He was God, He set this God-fashion aside often in order to relate with humans as a human yet bringing them to a life greater than humanity. He was the Son of God and Son of man. He was everything God wanted man to be- divine. He was life, and those who followed Him abandoned everything to follow Him because He is everything. He showed that that life was about living for God and doing His good pleasures.
Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Just imagine that, He went everywhere, to do good, to heal, to free, to bless, like wow, He didn't go about because He was tryna make some money or run for a political office, He went about to do good!
One time, He told His disciples, John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. He just wanted to please God by changing lives and giving life, that's all He wanted to do!

I found out that I became more aware of my personality in relation to Him the more I read and found out about Him. In knowing Him, you know yourself. You've got to meet this awesome glorious person called Jesus today. Start out by searching for the "Prayer of Salvation" article on the home page of this blog and pray the prayer with all your heart, then read the Bible, read the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and open up your heart to a life you never thought possible as He leads you on an extraordinary journey of life.

To be continued...

Apostle Peter- Running 1

A blend of Bible stories, revelations and fiction (literature license) about Peter's life and somewhat complex choices and decisions. Sit back, relax, cappuccino and enjoy! And Peter was running again, away from the persecution that had once again broken out against the Church. Jesus had been long gone. He missed Him. He still had nostalgia and goose bumps whenever he remembered just how divine Jesus was. He had seen Jesus do a lot of amazing miracles but none quite like the last one- he and his other folks, some 50 of them watched as Jesus levitated into the heavens until no physical eyes could see him again. He said He was going to heaven and of course that was true- Peter knew now by deep conviction that he'd walked with God Himself. And for some reason he thought himself a friend of God. He knew he was going to see Jesus again sometime soon. There was no debate in his heart about this. He loved Jesus or perhaps God- they were one and the same persons to him now. He ...

The Noble

Who is a noble person? Through Scripture references and inferences we'll embark on a journey that seeks to define and show us who God deems to be a noble person and why being one is an absolute no brainer, especially in this present noble-starved age. Pls note- the opinions presented in this article are derivations from the Scriptures and not a carnal fabrication or mere mental or cultural estimation of the author. You can look em up yourself to confirm the assertions and/or suggestions. The term noble/nobleman appears 40 times in the King James version of the Bible but it was first used in Exodus24:11 to describe certain "elders" who were to work alongside Moses in leading, guiding and directing the people of Israel according to the desires of God. Point to note is they were "leaders" and men of high repute often in the classification of princes and rulers over other people. So, if you're over anyone in leadership you're actually a noble save t...

Going on to know Him

People easily judge other people when they don't know them. We all may be guilty of this. A Lotta times, we stereotype people by how they look, their dressing and outward mannerisms ever before we hear them speak. I have been shocked many times of how guilty I've been with this. The most recent of such a person I nearly badly stereotyped turned out to be such an incredible person, so different and special in her way and she helped me in many beautiful ways such that we became pretty cool friends in the space of just a few months but this was the same lady I almost thought was way away from my type of friends. We've all made such mistakes so don't look at me that wayπŸ˜ΆπŸ˜‡. When we were done with the project that brought us together, I offered to take us to an icecream spot- it would probably be the last time we were seeing so it was my way of saying "thanks". There I told her how I had felt about her when I first saw her and she was somewhat unsurprised and sa...
