Romans 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
The scripture above is a part of Paul's explanation on the concept of "Righteousness", prior to this, He(Paul) had established how Abraham had received right standing with God through faith in God, Abraham would be called by God, and he believing in God, responded without doubting, and then it was accounted by God to him for righteousness. Now then Paul goes to the next part after establishing Abraham's righteousness, using Abraham still as an example, He says " blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin".The concept of this sentence is actually very powerful, the English word "impute" used in this sentence is translated from the Greek word "logizomai" , it's an accounting word, it's a word used in the Greek lexicon when account and records are to be taken about something. Now, "logizomai" means not to account or record something as though the original record never showed it. For example, when you delete a file from your computer, it goes to the recycle bin, now the file is deleted from your computer, but for one reason or the other, it can be conjured up again if you needed it, until you delete it from the recycle bin, it's not totally gone, at the same time, if the effects of the deleted file are not connected to any part of the files in your computer,it might be hard to trace if that file was on your computer in the first place. " logizomai" means deleting a record from an account as though it were not there in the first place, this is actually remarkable, it's a term that's consciously used everywhere it appears in the Bible to denote the mind of God concerning sin. Blessed is the man whom the Lord will impute no sin, if you believe in God as Abraham did, without any reason or doubt, He says the Lord will take it as though you never did any wrong, meaning your faith in God gives you an unquestionable right standing before Him. Amazing, we'll talk more about the details on this some other time. Friend, your faith in God gives you an unquestionable right standing with and before God. Do have a blessed Sunday.
