Title: You're a wreck; you need deliverance- by Jide Akinbua.

History has shown us that man needs to be delivered from himself. From the outset of the world men have fought systems and tyrannical governments that sought to keep them in bondage. Many have given their lives to dethrone governments that they thought were going mad with power and, in their place, established governments that suit their cause and desires.

From the emergence of the brutal Roman Caesars to the rise of the vicious German Nazi power as represented in power—thirsty Adolf Hitler, humanity has experienced with bloody tears in her eyes how much evil one man can inflict on the world if invested with absolute power. In order to curb and restrict the power of government and to put an end once and for all to the evil inflicted by the *Powers-that-be* on the masses, legislators went back into their legal factory and fabricated what they called modern democracy.

This was met with a standing ovation by the masses since it armed them with the right to put in power the man of their choice and depose him in the event that he didn't dance to their tune. In essence, democracy is the government of the people. Democracy involves the devolution of power from one man to a set of rules called the constitution in which are enshrined the fundamental human rights and around which other miscellaneous laws are enacted. They thought they had finally squashed the evil of government with the iron fist of democracy but little did they know that this would be replaced by the evil of the masses.

In a quest for freedom the masses started to push the envelope by clamoring for the legalisation of things which previously were considered abominable—gay rights, abortion, prostitution, incest, bestiality. Armed with the fundamental human rights these abominations were forced into laws. One evil replaced by another. It now comes down to this solemn question:

Are the forms of government the problem or men?

It goes without saying that the government is only as good as the people who are involved in it. There is nothing inherently evil about monarchy, autocracy or democracy instead there is something inherently wrong with humans. Oh man! You need deliverance! James Madison, the fourth U.S. President, once said:

"If men were angels, no government would be necessary!"

Unfortunately, men are not angels. Man is a fallen being who needs to be saved. So it is not shocking when you hear of bestiality being legalised in Canada or gay marriage in America because fallen man can only be true to his nature. Therefore, Democracy doesn't afford freedom but more bondage, because man's problem isn't political— it is spiritual. You need deliverance, oh man! This deliverance can only be found in Christ.

Jesus saves! I rest my pen.

  1. Wow! I like this. The gospel is the power of God to deliver and save. No human system has the capacity to save man.

The Noble

Who is a noble person? Through Scripture references and inferences we'll embark on a journey that seeks to define and show us who God deems to be a noble person and why being one is an absolute no brainer, especially in this present noble-starved age. Pls note- the opinions presented in this article are derivations from the Scriptures and not a carnal fabrication or mere mental or cultural estimation of the author. You can look em up yourself to confirm the assertions and/or suggestions. The term noble/nobleman appears 40 times in the King James version of the Bible but it was first used in Exodus24:11 to describe certain "elders" who were to work alongside Moses in leading, guiding and directing the people of Israel according to the desires of God. Point to note is they were "leaders" and men of high repute often in the classification of princes and rulers over other people. So, if you're over anyone in leadership you're actually a noble save t...

Apostle Peter- Running 1

A blend of Bible stories, revelations and fiction (literature license) about Peter's life and somewhat complex choices and decisions. Sit back, relax, cappuccino and enjoy! And Peter was running again, away from the persecution that had once again broken out against the Church. Jesus had been long gone. He missed Him. He still had nostalgia and goose bumps whenever he remembered just how divine Jesus was. He had seen Jesus do a lot of amazing miracles but none quite like the last one- he and his other folks, some 50 of them watched as Jesus levitated into the heavens until no physical eyes could see him again. He said He was going to heaven and of course that was true- Peter knew now by deep conviction that he'd walked with God Himself. And for some reason he thought himself a friend of God. He knew he was going to see Jesus again sometime soon. There was no debate in his heart about this. He loved Jesus or perhaps God- they were one and the same persons to him now. He ...

PLB Stories presents: David- How Big is Your Stomach 2?

The PLB stories are a blend of God-inspired Bible stories, revelations and fiction (literature license). So seat back, relax, cappuccino and read away! David had a flash back of his early music days... The only thing or person If you may, David loved more than his music was the one who gave him the music- Yahweh. As a result David sang and played more about God and His revelations in his heart than he did anything else, like literally nothing came close... He didn't have affection for too many things- and the Lord was the all in all of his affections. He was often left alone with his father's sheep as his brothers hurried to the parade ground to join in the army processions. He loved the solitude, the gentle breeze and the sunset evenings, music came so naturally to him at such times, he never stressed his mind to compose great music but on such cool evenings it was even easier. He would compose and sing all evening till it was time to feed the sheep and then he would ...
