Make deliberate choices

 Job  22:29  When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.


Life is really about choices, and may I even say intentional choices, both the choices we make, the choices we don't make. When we make a decision, that's a choice, when we don't make a decision, that in itself is also a choice. The scripture above depicts the character life itself takes. Eliphaz in his answer to Job, by the Spirit told Job, "when MEN are cast down, YOU shall say there is lifting up" ,this gives a picture that when things affect men generally, you have a decision to single out yourself by claiming what you want to see for yourself. He tells Job, when others are cast down, you have a choice to say you are lifted up. How true this is, well on the flip side, when things happen generally to others around you, you can choose either of two things: 1. To either accept the same fate. 2. To consciously create a different atmosphere for yourself, by being intentional about a solution.   Someone said "if life throws me lemons, I'd make lemonade with it, if life throws me oranges, I'd make orange juice with it" , this is incredible, this is a picture of someone who makes deliberate choices about whatever situation he finds himself in. The scripture says "when men are cast down...". He says you shall say " there is lifting up" , God wants us to programme ourselves for the exceptional when certain things tend to affect others around us. Make deliberate choices about life. Jesus, while speaking to listeners in John 6 talked of them eating his flesh and drinking his blood and how this would forever quench their hunger and thirst. Most of the people who heard this couldn't receive it, it seemed as if Jesus was trying to initiate them into some cult where they'd all be required to be cannibals. Yet Jesus, unapologetic as He always was didn't even try to break it down to their understanding, instead He said "those who hear and learn from my Father come to me".
