A call away

Psalms  18:6 "In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears." Sometimes there are certain decisions made that just seem to be wrong. Sometimes, some of these decisions even get in the way of a particular 'achievement', nevertheless I have learnt and witnessed over time that with God there's always a way to success even in the tightest place. God is wise enough always to make situations turn out good always for those who trust in Him no matter how much they've messed up. The Psalmist above says something profound, He says "in my distress, I called upon the LORD...he heard my voice..." , the most important thing in that verse apart from the fact the psalmist calls unto God is the fact that GOD HEARD. This is simply remarkable, God ALWAYS hears the call of those who needs His help, much more His children. No matter the situation that seemingly wrong dec...

Friendship circle

Proverbs  18:24  A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Have you ever heard someone say, "I don't have friends" or "I don't keep friends". Well, the answer to such statement is on the scriptural context above. Everything in life works with the seed principle. If you must be loved, you must sow love to others, if you must be blessed, you must bless others, if you must have friends, you must be friendly to others. The scripture above shows a man must be friendly with others to have friends. Friendship is very important, in the days of need ,you'd always need someone to rely on , or someone to rely on you. God created a social world, everyone needs somebody. No matter how valid your dreams are, you'd always need people to achieve them. Friends are important to dream fulfillment. However the fact that there are bad friends doesn't negate or nullify the importance of friendship. ...

An encounter beyond the letters

Exodus  15:1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.   15:2 The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him. Its very important to have a personal revelation and encounter with God. The scriptures above show Moses' testimony in songs and thanksgiving from coming to know God. Moses, a shepherd called by God to deliver the children of Israel from the onset had a divided opinion on whether following God or not, He tried as much as possible to push the responsibility to be used by God to someone else until God insisted on him. He embarked on the journey with some doubts, but after seeing the wonders God did through him against Pharaoh, and even seeing the same people he feared for many years drown in the s...

Be loving.

Luke  10:33 "But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,.." "Spirituality" is never an immunity to the values of humanity. As a matter of fact, real spirituality respects humanity. The verse above is a part of the popular story of "the good Samaritan" . The amazing thing about this parable is that Jesus clearly gives a picture of "spirituality" and "humanity", you should read the story if you haven't read it. A priest and a levite had come earlier and saw the wounded man, and did nothing, but a Samaritan who passed by and was touched by his condition, attended to the man. Now, the Priest and Levite both represented people of God, they represented "God", so it was clear to everyone what Jesus was passing across. Likewise the Samaritan was not even one reckoned to be of God. When you study John 4, you'd find out how the Samaritans were perceived by the Jew...

Communicate life.

Ephesians  4:29 "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." Communication is a vital aspect of our everyday life. Everyone communicates daily in his/her sphere of contact. Businesses are carried out based on communication. Issues are resolved with communication. Relationships are built on communication. The dealings of communication with the world on a daily basis are enormous. However, as great as communication is, there can be bad/corrupt communication. The scripture above illustrates the importance of the right kind of communication from the mouth. Any communication that is done with negative words will never have a lasting impact. For example, how do you seal a deal with a client using negative words?. Would that work?, and even if it did, will such client return again?. Corrupt communication definitely have no room in the daily life of a positive & progressive m...

Mind your business!

1 Thessalonians  4:11  "And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;" One of the hallmarks of successful people is focus & minding their businesses. A lot of times people spend time intruding or prying to others' affairs, some say "I'm not gossiping but I just feel we should talk about what this person is doing". I love a particular instance in the scriptures where Jesus perfectly demonstrated minding one's business,  Luke  12:14 "And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?". As a man on a journey of greatness, you don't need to meddle into the affairs of others, however this doesn't mean you keep quiet when others are suffering injustice, but when its got to do with other people's matter and your opinion isn't sought, stay away and focus on your own work. A man who has time to meddle into other people's affairs will not have...

Increase your Strength!!!

Proverbs  24:10  If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. Isaiah  40:29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. There is no task too hard to achieve, however a task becomes tough when STRENGTH is void. The greater the task, the greater the strength needed. Strength is the ability/capacity for staying-in and surmounting tasks. There are times we all feel we need that extra strength to push on to face challenges. The scriptures above tells what happens when there is no strength and yet how to increase strength. The fact you feel weak doesn't mean you're weak, all you need is to add more strength, accepting you're weak to face a challenge or do a task is a state on its own, and borrowing from Pastor Chris Oyakhilome's words, "until you change a man's thinking, you cannot change his state...", so refuse to accept you're weak even when you feel weak, all you need do is pray the Lord who inc...
