PLB'S CONFESSIONS 101

Words are things, like stuff, that's what Jesus said in Matthew12:34-35 and is further reiterated in Hebrews11:3 as the "things which are not seen". With words we can initiate and set in motion ideas, emotions, lifestyles, cultures and other things. Words have latent power to produce the things they talk about and can produce even the material things we desire. The CONFESSIONS 101 project simply helps to put the right words in our mouths so as to create a pleasurable life and desirable world. Here are some words to help achieve the goals above- I am a child of God I have the same quality of life that God has I am God's god I am powerful, creative, courageous, strong, healthy, sound and wealthy I have all that I require to live a glorious life in me and I know how to put them to work I am not afraid of anything, I am God's god! I am an excellent success, full of immense grace, top abilities and lots of excellent results I am showing forth God's glo

Prayer of Salvation

Becoming and being a Christian is the best thing that's ever happened to us Christians. Too much to say about all the benefits we enjoy both in this world and in the aftermath. And did I mention that it's incredibly easy to get started- You can even DIY! Just pray the short prayer below, believing with all your heart and your life will change in one fell swoop! "Oh Lord God, I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ. Your word says, "…whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Acts 2:21) I ask Jesus to come into my heart to be the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit and according to Romans 10:9,  "that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." I declare that I am saved; I am born again; I am a child of God! I now have Christ dwelling in me, and greater is HE that is in me than he that is in the world ( 1

What did you learn in Church ⛪ today?

So today's churching was absolutely fabulous. The Word, the glory, the miracles, sheer satisfaction. This is better than being anywhere else on a Sunday morning, absolutely incomparable! However, if you're having challenges with going to church for any reason whatsoever, try using the link below to connect online to the best Sunday service in the world with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome but work on going to your onsite Church often though. Link- www.christembassylagosvirtualzone.org Note- use the link only on Sundays 09:00GMT+1 and on Wednesdays 18:30GMT+1. WHAT I LEARNT 1. The concepts of sin, forgiveness and confessions. To get saved you don't confess your sins to God, you instead confess Jesus' lordship over your life. Romans 10:9-10 2. Living in the light prevents you from faults, errors and sins and you'd never have to keep asking for forgiveness if you would just live in the light I.e do the Word. 1John1:6-7 3. I am a life-giver like the "Las

#perfectlovechallenge

Wow! While studying the Bible yesterday I was presented a challenge by God and had to get the PLB team involved asap. Check out the Scripture below. 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. Did you see that word? The one most of us dread and consider totally impractical is featured in this Scripture... right there as the 8th and 23rd words ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. But really do you think it is really possible to practise "perfect" love? Pls comment below and let the world know! I know the word "PERFECT" scares the crap outta people but when God says "perfect" is possible then it means we are entirely fashioned within and without to do it. There's absolutely no reservation in this Scripture as regards whether or not it is possible to be "perfect" in love in this transient world! I think it's safe to say that it is possible to be perfect (fully mat

The Noble

Who is a noble person? Through Scripture references and inferences we'll embark on a journey that seeks to define and show us who God deems to be a noble person and why being one is an absolute no brainer, especially in this present noble-starved age. Pls note- the opinions presented in this article are derivations from the Scriptures and not a carnal fabrication or mere mental or cultural estimation of the author. You can look em up yourself to confirm the assertions and/or suggestions. The term noble/nobleman appears 40 times in the King James version of the Bible but it was first used in Exodus24:11 to describe certain "elders" who were to work alongside Moses in leading, guiding and directing the people of Israel according to the desires of God. Point to note is they were "leaders" and men of high repute often in the classification of princes and rulers over other people. So, if you're over anyone in leadership you're actually a noble save t

And finally..! PLB-15 steps to effective and exciting Bible study

I know we said 15 steps but, who doesn't like bonuses?๐Ÿ˜† And finally..! 16. Keep a note- Write down the thoughts you receive and the things you learn on some form of recording, whether it's in your notepad, note app or even voice/video notes ensure you keep a record of the key things you learnt. You might need these thoughts sometime sooner or later. Don't store them in your archive, no no no, have them at your beck and call because the Holy Spirit might need you to refer to them at any point in time. 17. Go to Church (the Church of Jesus Christ)- Yup, go Churching! The Bible calls the church the "ground and pillar of Truth"(1Timothy3:15). The Amplified translation calls it the "prop and support" of the Truth. This means in the Church you'll find every reason in the world why the Scriptures are true. What you learn from the Bible will find support and be further strengthened as you relate with other Believers. Before you leave, you'd be abs

Tobi's take on "Faith"

CLASSIC FAITH SERIES "FAITH", quite a very  crucial and need say probably the most important aspect in the Christian walk. Sometimes not fully understood and as a result not being fully utilized to its maximum potentialities and workings, hence being misconcepted when it "fails", but faith never fails, it never failed any of the patriarchs of old in the Bible, and still doesn't fail in contemporary times. Taking a brief exposรฉ on the origin & modus operandi of the God- kind of Faith, I'm sure it would really get you loving it more. The first major account of "Faith" in the Bible was to Abram, who God had PROMISED a child in a very old age. Did you know that was a story of Faith? Sure you must have heard about the story, whose wife Sarai also being old equally, and had clearly passed menopause was now to have a chid in a very old age. Seeing that this was impossible, Abraham must have reasoned or thought out how such old body systems as his &

PLB-15 steps to effective and exciting Bible study 4

I'm pretty certain you've been enjoying this series... It keeps getting better so be sure  be sure to follow it through till the end. Enjoy! 12. Have a good command of the native language you're studying in. As already stated, relevant study materials in the language you best comprehend must be at your beck and call. The Bible is not only the number one spiritual study material ever, it's also the finest and most sublimely written intellectual material ever. As you study it, you should have a better command of words, poem and language generally but kick off with at least a basic understanding of the language you best understand. 13. Get some Bible apps on your phone. Here's what I mean, I've got this Bible app, and everyday they send me a mail of a verse of the Scripture and I have at times found myself completely dive into the Scriptures simply because of the Scripture snippet I received. It's quite lovely. Also, follow these Scripture pages on your s

Apostle Peter- Running 1

A blend of Bible stories, revelations and fiction (literature license) about Peter's life and somewhat complex choices and decisions. Sit back, relax, cappuccino and enjoy! And Peter was running again, away from the persecution that had once again broken out against the Church. Jesus had been long gone. He missed Him. He still had nostalgia and goose bumps whenever he remembered just how divine Jesus was. He had seen Jesus do a lot of amazing miracles but none quite like the last one- he and his other folks, some 50 of them watched as Jesus levitated into the heavens until no physical eyes could see him again. He said He was going to heaven and of course that was true- Peter knew now by deep conviction that he'd walked with God Himself. And for some reason he thought himself a friend of God. He knew he was going to see Jesus again sometime soon. There was no debate in his heart about this. He loved Jesus or perhaps God- they were one and the same persons to him now. He

PLB-15 steps to effective and exciting Bible study 3

We kinda stopped on number 8 the last time... so here's the continuation. 9. Do a quick search on the subject matter on the Bible app you're using. For example, if you wanna know more on what God says about the new creation. Search for "new creation" and use the results as a guide. 10. Don't rush! Even if it's one verse of the Scripture you end up reading for that day it's worth much more than "skimming" through an entire chapter and rushing without actually gaining something tangible. For example if it's 2Corinthians5:17, read it carefully, watch for words worth looking up in the dictionary, look out for tenses, "is" is different from "was" and can mean a whole world of difference in Bible study. Reminds me of how I got stuck up in a verse of the Scriptures for about 3 months in 2009(1Corinthians6:17) and just couldn't get on to other Scriptures cause I was sucking up all the juice from this one verse. Mehn! Th

PLB-15 steps to effective and exciting Bible study 2

Here's the continuation for getting your Bible game lit! 4. Another really cool way to get started is to go for recordings of others whom you've heard have done incredible exploits with the Word and are skillful at teaching it (my recommendation: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome). This way might be faster for some of y'all. There's a reason you had and still have teachers for academic purposes in your life. God apparently has provided for that in His great plan to keep His children enlightened about Him and His ways and us. It's okay to get help sometimes and not just think you can 'diy' all the time. Get the e-versions of their message and plug in at your silent times, while driving to work and while on the treadmill, have a voracious attitude towards the Word... and oh, you can get Pastor Chris Oyakhilome's video and audio messages by getting the "Pastor Chris Digital Library" app on the Apple app store and Google play! 5. Create some solitude. Y

PLB-15 steps to effective and exciting Bible study I

It's a series, so just relax and chill. It is common knowledge that as a Christian you have to, need to and must study the Scriptures for a successful Christian life. There are many successes in the world today but the Christian's definition of success is quite different. It has to do with living all of life and doing all things as the Scriptures teach. From relating with people I realise that a lotta Christians desire to get more of the Scriptures but are burdened with many excuses as to how (where, when) to go about it. These series are designed to help solve these challenges. Have fun reading☺. 1. Realise that in order to love God more and live a truly fulfilled and pleasing to God you will need some good level of personal knowledge from the Scriptures (settle that first in your heart). 2. Everyone who has had a considerable beautiful experience with the Scriptures can testify to these: -you may not agree with everything at first, -you may not understand everything

PLB- Our Ethics

Just a few caution signals as we get started: * no foul language (save your f-word means 'favour' pls don't even think about using it here๐Ÿ™… along with all its neighbours and friends). * no cyber bullying, insults and derogatory comments of any sort. * no advertising without prior knowledge of the moderator (Pastor Lams๐Ÿ˜Ž). * no cyber begging- if you want us to support a cause of yours check out our "how to contribute" article for my contact info. * only positive vibes (we're creating a world as close to our dreams as possible here. Let's keep all things positive and heart warmingly welcoming). That's it, very few and simple caution signs. Thanks for abiding by them.

PLB- Who in the world do we think we are?

As at inception "we" is actually just me, Pastor Lams๐Ÿ˜Ž and a couple of really amazing friends. I hope however that you'd be willing to partner with us in doing this divine thing. If you've been in the Bible like I've been (I know, you're probably one better ) you'd realise that there are a whole lotta things the world doesn't know from God's perspective. Unpopular truths about us and our environments (social, economic, political etc). Civilisations ALWAYS begin through the spread of some relatively new information and knowledege. However, they tip when more and more people are bought into the ideals of this new "trend". Think of the more recent incursion of the mobile phone. Over here in Africa, phones generally were not accepted so quickly. I remember the acronym "GSM" being termed "General Street Madness" because when you were making use of a Nokia or alcatel you appeared to be speaking with yourself or some gh

PLB- Why we came about!

Well, there's all kinds of blogs in the world today. Blogs as they are today actually have a relatively short history, coming onto the scene in the late 1990s it didn't take too long for blogs to explode. One source claims from just 23 blogs on the internet in 1999 the number of blogs had increased to over 50 million by middle 2006 and today there are over 152 milli of them in our faces. From fashion blogs, to travel blogs, personal blogs, entertainment blogs, novel blogs you name it... and oh how could I forget, gossip blogs. Blogs are without a doubt a part of modern day civilisation and more importantly are a a part of the determinants of modern day civilisation. PLB came about to not only join in the evolution of civilisation but also to play a determining role in how we roll(kabling๐Ÿ‘Œ) using the most accurate and most divine of resources to do so- The Bible. We'll do our homework. Excellent and accurate content will be our hallmarks. So, whatever you read here you
