A call away

Psalms  18:6 "In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears." Sometimes there are certain decisions made that just seem to be wrong. Sometimes, some of these decisions even get in the way of a particular 'achievement', nevertheless I have learnt and witnessed over time that with God there's always a way to success even in the tightest place. God is wise enough always to make situations turn out good always for those who trust in Him no matter how much they've messed up. The Psalmist above says something profound, He says "in my distress, I called upon the LORD...he heard my voice..." , the most important thing in that verse apart from the fact the psalmist calls unto God is the fact that GOD HEARD. This is simply remarkable, God ALWAYS hears the call of those who needs His help, much more His children. No matter the situation that seemingly wrong dec

Friendship circle

Proverbs  18:24  A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Have you ever heard someone say, "I don't have friends" or "I don't keep friends". Well, the answer to such statement is on the scriptural context above. Everything in life works with the seed principle. If you must be loved, you must sow love to others, if you must be blessed, you must bless others, if you must have friends, you must be friendly to others. The scripture above shows a man must be friendly with others to have friends. Friendship is very important, in the days of need ,you'd always need someone to rely on , or someone to rely on you. God created a social world, everyone needs somebody. No matter how valid your dreams are, you'd always need people to achieve them. Friends are important to dream fulfillment. However the fact that there are bad friends doesn't negate or nullify the importance of friendship.

An encounter beyond the letters

Exodus  15:1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.   15:2 The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him. Its very important to have a personal revelation and encounter with God. The scriptures above show Moses' testimony in songs and thanksgiving from coming to know God. Moses, a shepherd called by God to deliver the children of Israel from the onset had a divided opinion on whether following God or not, He tried as much as possible to push the responsibility to be used by God to someone else until God insisted on him. He embarked on the journey with some doubts, but after seeing the wonders God did through him against Pharaoh, and even seeing the same people he feared for many years drown in the sea right be

Be loving.

Luke  10:33 "But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,.." "Spirituality" is never an immunity to the values of humanity. As a matter of fact, real spirituality respects humanity. The verse above is a part of the popular story of "the good Samaritan" . The amazing thing about this parable is that Jesus clearly gives a picture of "spirituality" and "humanity", you should read the story if you haven't read it. A priest and a levite had come earlier and saw the wounded man, and did nothing, but a Samaritan who passed by and was touched by his condition, attended to the man. Now, the Priest and Levite both represented people of God, they represented "God", so it was clear to everyone what Jesus was passing across. Likewise the Samaritan was not even one reckoned to be of God. When you study John 4, you'd find out how the Samaritans were perceived by the Jew

Communicate life.

Ephesians  4:29 "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." Communication is a vital aspect of our everyday life. Everyone communicates daily in his/her sphere of contact. Businesses are carried out based on communication. Issues are resolved with communication. Relationships are built on communication. The dealings of communication with the world on a daily basis are enormous. However, as great as communication is, there can be bad/corrupt communication. The scripture above illustrates the importance of the right kind of communication from the mouth. Any communication that is done with negative words will never have a lasting impact. For example, how do you seal a deal with a client using negative words?. Would that work?, and even if it did, will such client return again?. Corrupt communication definitely have no room in the daily life of a positive & progressive m

Mind your business!

1 Thessalonians  4:11  "And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;" One of the hallmarks of successful people is focus & minding their businesses. A lot of times people spend time intruding or prying to others' affairs, some say "I'm not gossiping but I just feel we should talk about what this person is doing". I love a particular instance in the scriptures where Jesus perfectly demonstrated minding one's business,  Luke  12:14 "And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?". As a man on a journey of greatness, you don't need to meddle into the affairs of others, however this doesn't mean you keep quiet when others are suffering injustice, but when its got to do with other people's matter and your opinion isn't sought, stay away and focus on your own work. A man who has time to meddle into other people's affairs will not have

Increase your Strength!!!

Proverbs  24:10  If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. Isaiah  40:29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. There is no task too hard to achieve, however a task becomes tough when STRENGTH is void. The greater the task, the greater the strength needed. Strength is the ability/capacity for staying-in and surmounting tasks. There are times we all feel we need that extra strength to push on to face challenges. The scriptures above tells what happens when there is no strength and yet how to increase strength. The fact you feel weak doesn't mean you're weak, all you need is to add more strength, accepting you're weak to face a challenge or do a task is a state on its own, and borrowing from Pastor Chris Oyakhilome's words, "until you change a man's thinking, you cannot change his state...", so refuse to accept you're weak even when you feel weak, all you need do is pray the Lord who inc

Stay optimistic!

2 Kings  7:1  Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.  Optimism is one very important ingredient in every progress minded person. However, certain challenges and situations often times make it seem a little tough to stay optimistic. Nevertheless, a man who stays focused on the power of God to always make situations beautiful would never regret. The scripture above tells of a time in the history of Samaria where there was such an awkward famine, one that led to even people eating each other, however during such a nebulous quagmire, the Prophet Elisha gave a word from God that by the next day, there was going to be prosperity. It was quite hard to believe that someone doubted, you should read the whole story yourself. Just the same way Samaria had a famine overturned, such is the power of God to turn in a sudden flash

The land will be green again.

Ezekiel  37:4  Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.    Ezekiel  37:7  So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. "Bones" in scripture refers to situations. There is a difference between the verse "bone of my bones"(Gen2:23) and "bones" as used in Ezekiel 37. Its all entrenched in the right understanding and application of scripture language.    Ezekiel 37 is one of the most profound parts of the Bible which teaches on the importance of Prophecy. The Prophet Ezekiel was taken to  a place full of dry bones, and then God told him to speak(prophesy) to the bones, and he did and the bones came alive again. Now, this is so profound, it gives the understanding of the mastery of words over situations. Words are very important in situations, the Bible says God spoke to the Prophet Ezekiel an

Right Leadership.

Matthew 20:26 “But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant.”  The success and failure of any establishment or organization most often times rises and falls on Leadership. Leadership is guiding, helping, communicating and working together with a person or people to bring out the best in them either for a particular cause or not. Any establishment without good leadership would struggle to have a clear cut agenda. For decades the problem of most African countries mainly has always been bad leadership, African countries have often times been characterized with bad leadership. It's sad and pathetic that often times leaders are changed periodically due to election, however the same leadership system still holds. Until African countries deal with the menace of bad leadership, no matter how many leaders pass through the leadership system, Africa will still remain regressive. An instance is the current 'unrest' in Nigeria, this is a

Justice will prevail

2 Samuel  1:19 The beauty of Israel is slain upon thy high places: how are the mighty fallen!   1:20 Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph. It saddens my heart to see violence become the order of the day in a once peaceful movement. The life of many being sacrificed as an 'example' for others to 'learn from'. How do we explain the people we did a favour for by voting into power are repaying this favour by killing those who voted them. It's a sad story. However, I admonish every Nigerian as we go about this protest to do it with all safety measures. Let's make our voice heard but let's do this with safety measures. Justice will always win. May God visit every evil doer in Nigeria. It saddens my heart. But we are strong in God! (Daily Nuggets with Tobi Adebayo )

Now that sun is risen!

Isaiah  60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. I n Nigeria, a new wave of change has begun, a revolution stemmed in a tree of evolution. Evolution of minds, evolution of will, and evolution of attitude amidst many more have engulfed the great citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It could be as well just summarized that the people have come out of the dark into the light to embrace who they really are and what they should really have and see. The scripture above gives God's mindset concerning change, Prophet Isaiah brings God's word to the Israelites in a time of gloom and the first thing He tells them by the Spirit is "Arise, Shine..." God's desire is for us to embrace the light of change and shine in the light brought. It's a pity story we all had to wait this long to embrace this light, however, like its said, its better late than never. However, we all should also be sensitive to evil agenda, I stum

Justice must rule!!!✊๐Ÿผ

Proverbs 15:21 When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers. Whilst listening to some disheartening stories on the atrocities of the defunct SARS in Nigeria, I couldn't hold back a tear from coming through, then I thought to myself "Nigerians have really endured too long, this tank is filled to the brim, it can't take anymore water". Noteworthy is the story of the young man Chijioke who was unlawfully detained in 2012 and even after much huge bribes from his parents was still not released, and I started asking questions, but aren't these officers Nigerians and human as well?, how do they sleep? don't they have nightmares when they kill innocent people? don't they have children?, don't they have nephews and nieces?, how did it get to this point? There is a point inhumanity must not go beyond else it becomes cohabiting with the Devil himself. A Police officer says " I will shoot your son and NOTHING will happen "

Peace be unto you.

John  14:27  "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." If you're a good student of the WORD as you ought to be(2Tim2:15), you'd know what the above text scripture really means. The scripture above shows there really are two kinds of peace, the peace the world gives, and the peace Jesus gives. Many at times, people have often inferred peace to be the absence of trouble, well, but not entirely so, peace isn't really the absence of trouble, peace is the presence of Jesus, He is the Prince of Peace. There is such a peace a man can enjoy that the world gives, the man wouldn't be troubled, yet He won't be fulfilled, only Jesus gives the kind of peace, that brings fulfillment. HE said to us(His disciples), He leaves His peace with us. I'd like to give a little exposรฉ on the Peace Jesus really gives. The story in (Mark 4:39) shows Jesus in the boat wit

Our language is clear.

Genesis  11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. The past few days in Nigeria have witnessed a surging unity like never before amongst the citizens of the country. Everyone, both young and old, male and female have arisen with one voice to challenge the voice of oppression, hence increasing the voice of equality and equity in the charge to establish an egalitarian society void of fears. God Himself has described such acts like this in scriptures, for example, the scripture above is such where the people had a unity to achieve something, though their aim & vision was not a laudable one so God had to confuse their language so they don't understand one another anymore, hence creating a disunity amongst them. But in other times, the unity of people have never been tampered with when it was towards a good cause. The protests in the pas

#TellSomeoneAboutJesus

Acts  4:12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. I once heard a preacher say "if you don't know Jesus on Earth, when you die, who would you say you're looking for at Heaven's gate?". It was quite a touching statement. Some things are just what they are, no matter how much we try to 'sugarcoat' God's love, the scriptures still maintains, there is no other name given amongst men for them to be saved(from eternal damnation) except the name of "Jesus". So this gives an understanding, that the name of Jesus is beyond just the name of the Son of God, but also the only name that guarantees God's saving power. The name of Jesus is God's saving power. You know, I've been asked countless times by people, are Christians the only ones to make Heaven?, and I've always pointed out John14:6 without any stutter. True Christianity is an extremist ideolog

You have the Power!!!

1 Corinthians  10:13 "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." Addictions aren't bad, there are good addictions, and there are bad addictions. However, while virtually no one will like to stop a good addiction, almost everyone involved in a bad/negative addiction at some point in time will always look for how to stop. You can be addicted to anything, but once it becomes something against your divinity, your health, and humanity, it becomes a cause of concern. The first thing to know in breaking addictions are "addictions are broken with other addictions". An addiction is an action that takes over the brain and could have an effect on the body over a period of time. If you possibly struggle to stop an addiction, the first thing you must know is for you to stop that add

The most excellent way!!!

John  13:35 "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." The identity of every Christian is love(agape), the God-kind of love, the love that holds no reason for its nature. The above scriptural context shows Jesus telling us how everyone would know we belong to Him.Its quite amazing that Jesus never mentioned by prayer, preaching, or even praise/worship shall all men know we belong to Him, He says "Love". This is just remarkable, it shows the priority God puts on Love, " agape", the love that holds no reason for its nature. In our everyday living, we must act towards others ingenuously, not necessarily having an attachment to it. No matter the duration or length of tongues you speak, if you don't love others ingenuously, there's no sign you're a Christian, no matter how "strong" your preaching is, love cannot be substituted. Love is acted, its shown. It's demonstrated. I love the picture t

Psalms  82:2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.   82:3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.   82:4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.   82:5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.   82:6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.   82:7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes . The recent days in Nigeria have been characterized by agitations and displeasure of all towards the heinous acts of the Police with the SARS(Special Anti-Robbery Squad) in focus. Well, God always has a a say in the affairs of men, and the scriptures above is one of such. God has always shown His intense displeasure for the maltreating of the poor, the helpless. Over time in Nigeria almost everyone who has had an ordeal with the Nigerian Police Force has been somewhat labe

Your should-be trademark

Daniel  6:3  Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. Exceptionalism is a fruit of an addiction to excellence. Well, while it's so true there is grace, however, there is also "personal excellence". Excellence is and should be the standard for anyone who chooses to go far. Excellence brings exceptionalism which then leads to a unique brand. It's so sad that most people have thrown the culture of excellence to the winds at the expense of just making "ends meet" even if it requires cutting corners to get a job done. As a person, I value excellence even than finishing a job "on-time". While " Timeliness" is a very good value to have, "Excellence" is quite different, it's unique, Excellence is you when you have it. I remember couple of days ago, I was "doing" dishes, I had finished and left the Kitchen,

Make a move, don't sit!

Job  22:29  When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person. Life is really about choices, and may I even say intentional choices, both the choices we make, the choices we don't make. When we make a decision, that's a choice, when we don't make a decision, that in itself is also a choice. The scripture above depicts the character life in itself takes. Eliphaz in his answer to Job, by the Spirit told Job, "when MEN are cast down, YOU shall say there is lifting up" , gives a picture of things affecting men generally, but you have a decision to single out yourself by claiming what you want to see for yourself. He tells Job, when others are cast down, you have a choice to say you are lifted up. How true this is, well on the flip side, when things happen generally to others around you, you can choose either of two things: 1. To either accept the same fate. 2. To consciously create a different atmosphere for yourse

Dividends of Loyal Friendship

2 Samuel  9:1 And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?  In an age where everyone wants to be identified with "success", there seems to be the temptation to not want to be identified with any relationship perceived not to be heading towards 'success'. However, while it's good to associate with purpose driven people, it should also be noted that not everyone is at the same speed of reaching 'success' as the world measures it. True friendship is a test of any circumstance. The text above is a story of the true friendship between David and Jonathan at childhood level which would later culminate into indebtedness. David, having now being a King sought someone of Jonathan's household to show kindness, even though Jonathan was late, the friendship He and David shared wasn't late, David would call Melphibosheth and have him sit at the King's table. Such a story of true fri

Special breed๐Ÿ˜Ž

Psalms  16:6 "The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage."  A man whose connected to God has a glorious heritage. Its an ancestry of greatness. King David in the understanding of this acclaimed that the lines are fallen unto him in pleasant places because he has a goodly heritage. 'Lines' here means portions, for example, if you were to share a land with someone, and the person took a part, and then you took another part, fortunately the part you now took, you discovered gold on that part of the land, you can say "the lines fell unto you in a pleasant place", meaning your portion of the land is a blessing. This is so incredible, its clear why Isaac dug and got water in a time of famine whereas others didn't. Friend, can this be true?. Yes it is!, emphatically yes!. A man connected to God has a glorious connection that makes things work for him.  The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, yea! I have a glorious

You have the Father's attention.

Judges  16:28 "And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes." Taking a line from Nosa's song "I go stay", He says ".... if these guys fit dey call God attention, what of me wey be new creation...". Its so remarkable that scripturally the new creation is described as one who has direct access to God the Father, in comparison to those who prayed in the old Testament. Taking a look at the story of Samson who after he had fallen into the hands of the Philistines after disobeying God praying and God still heard him just shows there's so much more to this " thing". Samson could get God's attention after "messing up", why should you being a new creation in Christ feel so bad and dejected to pray after messing up? Oh no!. I reckon that most times " pride " makes a man s

Value=the desire for impact

Mark  10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.   10:22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. While meditating yesterday, I thought to myself "value=the desire for impact". You can only change what you want with what you have to the degree of how much you want that change.  The scripture above is the quite popular story of the rich man and Jesus. A man who yearned to follow Jesus and live for impact, He approached Jesus and Jesus told him to go sell all he had and then come follow Him, the man turned back BECAUSE HE HAD GREAT POSSESSIONS and didn't want to LOSE THEM. Did you see that? The value he had for impact could not measure up to the value of he had on his possessions. How true this is still for so many people today. Someone says, whe

Peace & Soundness of mind

2 Timothy  1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. " I'm a firm believer that one of the most vital if not the most vital aspect of the human health is the mental health. Its so important to have a mind that's put together. A lot of times, there are challenges that come our way which test our mental capacity and strength, some times they are quite overwhelming, making it seem like we just need to go somewhere solitary to have a "cool off", however the scriptures promises something quite lovely. God says to those who accept Him in their lives, He has given "... a sound mind" , the phrase "sound mind" is translated from the Greek word "Sophronismos", which means " a mental state well balanced with accurate judgement". This is the kind of mind you have in Christ. A mind configured to make accurate and sound judgement, a mind that's in the rest of God. Most i

Eat before leaving๐Ÿ˜€

1 Kings  19:7 "And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee." Strength is as important as a journey. No matter how eager you are to complete a task, the ability to start and go through any task with enough strength is always important. Many people have delved into things a lot without first sitting to muster much strength(spiritual/physical/mental acumen). The scripture above is such a profound story of the task Elijah was about to face, but the most important thing is An Angel coming to give him food, telling him to eat because the journey was far. Come to think of it, this was God giving Elijah this journey, yet God had to tell him to eat, couldn't God supernaturally sustain him along the way as long as it was God who sent him on this journey?, yet God told him to eat, in fact, the Angel had to tell Elijah twice to eat, Elijah must have been so eager to start as so many people

Stay Thankful.Happy Sunday๐Ÿ˜Ž

1 Thessalonians  5:18 "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." God is good. He does good. There is no iota of wickedness in Him towards man. You know, a lot of people often times ask, "well, if God is good, why does He allow wicked things happen since He is omnipotent?". Some even make up their minds to just say, "God is just God, not necessarily good". Well, the answer to such questions I give to others is that God created the world but He's left it in the affairs of men, nevertheless creating standards for the world to revolve round. " God doesn't endorse wickedness, but the wicked would always meet their waterloo", which means He is good and therefore protects His own. So, a wise man would always give thanks to God for His goodness. God is good, it's not a clichรฉ, it's a fact. He makes "good" the standard for the world. Irrespective of whatever happens, the good always

Accommodate

13-15 "One day children were brought to Jesus in the hope that he would lay hands on them and pray over them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus intervened: “Let the children alone, don’t prevent them from coming to me. God’s kingdom is made up of people like these.” After laying hands on them, he left."(MSG)  Though the verse above is mostly associated with Jesus talking about the kind of people the Kingdom of God is made up of. However, one important aspect we often overlook is Jesus was also teaching about 'receptiveness' and 'accommodation' here. Sometimes too many people out of 'fame' become unnecessarily hostile towards others. Some even maintain, they are being protected by security from harm, well, protection from harm doesn't equate being hostile towards people. I maintain Jesus was/is the most famous man to walk the face of the Earth, yet He showed a very accommodating demeanor. It also comes to those who sometimes feel too busy fo

Letting go,Letting God

Hebrews  12:12  Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; You know sometimes mistakes are made which sometimes leave a bitter dent on how you feel. Perhaps, It could be some past experiences you're not so proud of and often times memories of them leave a sour taste, but truth about this is never give the past you're not proud of the power to affect your desired future. God's mercies are new every morning, with God, mistakes expire. Do not dwell on what God doesn't dwell on. God wants you to move on, because He doesn't dwell on your past mistakes, once you trust in Him to make things new, He wipes out the bitter effect those mistakes choose to have on your emotions. The scriptural context above says "lift up the hands which hang down...", that's God speaking, God never wants any iota of discouragement for you because His plans cannot work for you to maximum potentialities with the presence of bitterness, so let go and let God. Proverbs  14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. When right values and standards are in place, progress is inevitable. A community that breeds selfishness thrives on each living for himself which has never been in God's agenda for the purpose of  man, and when purpose is defeated, abuse and misuse is clearly inevitable. The scripture above says "Righteousness exalts a nation...", how true this is, what does He mean by 'Righteousness' in this context, 'Righteousness' here means right standards, right values, right principles. A nation can never grow on wrong principles, no matter the amount of prayer prayed for a nation, without the right standards, stagnancy is certain. In light of the celebration of Nigeria's Independence day, the message to everyone is crystal clear, each man must live a selfless life , give no room to selfishness. Are you a Policeman, why don't you respect the core of your profession by protec
