You're Fortified

Philippians  4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Christ is a person and also a place. When you become a Christian, you receive a person and also at the same time, you come into a place, A place called Christ. In this place, i.e in Christ, lies all possibility and ability. You must understand as a Christian that whatever business or job you do, it must yield increase because Christ is also in that business as long as its a business that's in line with God's will. You have come to a place called Christ, this is a place where prosperity and endless possibilities are domiciled. Christ gives you the advantage and ace in your business sphere. In your job, you have the extra benefit. Nevertheless, this doesn't suggest any mindset of indolence on your path. You must put in effort to have the extra edge you have being manifest. Inculcate this mindset as you continue on your work, and know that all things are possible as long as Christ is with

No downcast

2 Kings  13:18 And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed. One of the easiest thing to do, do I even say easiest is to "give up". Giving up is so easy, and also one of the easiest temptation to get into. The verse above is a touching story, you should read it up. Elisha had told Joash who just started to reign in the stead of his late father, the late King. Joash had come weeping to Elisha, Elisha then told him to shoot arrows, and he shot just three times, now this isn't ordinary, if you studied further, you'd find out Joash was " fed up", He was weary of even his late father. He was mentally down. As a matter of fact, when he shot just three times, the Man of God(Elisha) was wroth with him, he told him he should have shot more times, and his three times shot earned him very little victory. This is figurative of many people's experiences also who out of ex

Chase that dream to the end

Joel  2:28  "...your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:" One of the most awe-striking piece I ever found in the Bible is the story of Moses before his call to deliver Israel. Think about this, Moses had a passion, a dream to deliver his people from oppression, he tried so hard doing it as a Youth, but nothing happened, in fact he fled Egypt. Now many years later, at the age of 80 when Moses was getting ready to retire in life, taking care of Sheep, He then hears this same God He must have felt should have helped him achieve his dream while younger call him to come and achieve that same dream, I want to believe, Moses must have been a little disappointed, hence he gave numerous excuses of not wanting to go anymore, if God came while he was younger, he most likely wouldn't have given any excuse.  This is just so incredible, the scripture above says "...your old men shall dream dreams". Friend, what I've found in scriptures and life

Priority Information

Proverbs  16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. A word came to me yesterday in my 'quiet time' which was "most people tell others about their plans first even before they remember to tell God", and this struck me like a cord. It's so true, I found out most times people have opinions, but God never has an opinion, God has direction. People have opinions, God has direction. While speaking with a friend yesterday, she recalled how some people had tried to talk her down/out from doing something, and I felt well, people always have opinions, and like David Ologbonori, a life-coach posited, " Opinions are cheap, they are everywhere, and they can be wrong". While I thought about the fact that sometimes people tell others about their plans before God, I thought to myself "why should a man inform others about what he wants to do even before the waymaker Himself?"😏. This doesn't mean you can't talk to &quo

Grace works

Daniel  11:32  "And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits." We live in a competitive world. Every man seeks to be the best in his field, which is definitely not wrong, everyone strives for the mastery of exceptionalism, which is definitely very laudable, but yet not everyone seems to get fulfilled in 'this race' of 'exceptionalism'. Well, the scriptures offers a grand solution to this, it says , "those who know(aware of) their God shall be strong and do exploits". As a child of God, one thing you should be well aware of is that you play by a different set of rules. Unlike the natural man, you function by Grace, yes, you should work hard, but you should also be very conscious and aware of Grace. When you become aware of this Grace, it says, you shall be strong and DO exploits. I love that. As a person, I've always been conscious of Grace in

They carry the same power

Proverbs  18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." Hi, let's talk. Have you ever thought of why people are sometimes more sensitive to evil words than good words? For example, if some people are told "God bless you", or " it is well", there seems to be a casual response like "Yeah, its one of those things again🙄", but if for any reason those same people are told "Things are not fine with you", you definitely would almost see a fight there😀. I remember one service I was in many years ago in a Church, the Pastor said " I tell you, you all are blessed", the members were so casual in their "Amen", then the Pastor went outside the Tent-hall Church and said with the Microphone "according to Malachi 2:3, you are cursed", my goodness, I have never heard such shouts of " I am blessed" from people before😀. The shout almost brought the

Don't give up on Friendships

2 Samuel  9:1 "And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?" In an age where everyone wants to be identified with "success", there seems to be that temptation to not want to be identified with any relationship perceived not to be heading towards 'success'. However, while it's good to associate with purpose driven people, it should also be noted that not everyone is at the same speed of reaching 'success' as the world measures it. True friendship is a test of any circumstance. The text above is a story of the true friendship between David and Jonathan at childhood level which would later culminate into indebtedness. David, having now being a King sought someone of Jonathan's household to show kindness, even though Jonathan was late, the friendship He and David shared wasn't late, David would call Melphibosheth and have him sit at the King's table. Such a story

"LET US GO TO THE OTHER SIDE"

Mark  4:35 "And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side."    The verse above is the beginning of the story of Jesus travelling with His Disciples from one side of a lake to another, which as they journeyed in the boat, a storm rose and threatened the peace of the boat that they all were terrified of Death and had to wake "sleeping" Jesus up, who then calmed the storm. This occurrence is very remarkable, it shows the Lordship of the Word over any situation. Jesus had told them "Let's go to the other side", so it didn't matter what would happen on the way, the point was the other side would be gotten to. Friend, sometimes God doesn't talk to you about the process when He gives you a vision, because the details of the process are inconsequential to the authenticity of the vision. Though, there is a process to accomplishing your vision, but the process isn't a verifier of the authenticity

Word of His Grace

Acts  20:32 "And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified." One of my most favourite scriptures is the above quoted. I love it so much because it explains the total package for the Christian. These were Paul's final words by the Spirit before departing Troas where he had preached for 7 days. From this scripture, its clear to know that not every Christian enjoys the inheritance received in Christ Jesus after salvation. He says "the word of his grace which is able to ........... and to GIVE YOU AN INHERITANCE.....". If every Christian received an inheritance in Christ after Salvation, this scripture shows us that not every Christian enjoys it. For instance, one inheritance in Christ is "wisdom", but not every Christian often time functions in this wisdom, so this scripture tells us why, He says the "word of his grace" is

Make deliberate choices

Job  22:29  When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person. Life is really about choices, and may I even say intentional choices, both the choices we make, the choices we don't make. When we make a decision, that's a choice, when we don't make a decision, that in itself is also a choice. The scripture above depicts the character life itself takes. Eliphaz in his answer to Job, by the Spirit told Job, "when MEN are cast down, YOU shall say there is lifting up" ,this gives a picture that when things affect men generally, you have a decision to single out yourself by claiming what you want to see for yourself. He tells Job, when others are cast down, you have a choice to say you are lifted up. How true this is, well on the flip side, when things happen generally to others around you, you can choose either of two things: 1. To either accept the same fate. 2. To consciously create a different atmosphere for yours

Don't shortchange yourself

Matthew  7:6  "...neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." Everyday of your life should be geared towards improving yourself, and as you improve yourself, you should also NOT shortchange yourself. A major challenge that holds in our world today is many don't understand the difference between self-confidence and pride. Pride and Self-confidence are totally different things. As you develop yourself, you should exchange your value for nothing less, it doesn't matter how anyone looks at you, its not pride, its called self-confidence. Jesus says "cast not your pearls before swine" meaning do not give precious things to don't who don't value it. You must exchange value for value. You must give value to those when understand what you're bringing to the table, do not shortchange yourself. If you would discipline yourself to add value to yourself, you can discipline yourself not to

Reason for living

Luke  12:20  "But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?" Did you ever read the whole story of the above verse?. Its such a remarkable one. Jesus talks about a rich man who expanded his assets, yet a sentence of death was passed to him by God, its a remarkable story, you should read it. Question is, why did God pass a sentence of "death" on him?, Is God against prosperity?, No, is God wicked?, of course not, so why did God pass a sentence of death on him?. He passed a sentence of death on him because the man had no justified reason to be alive anymore. Shortly, after the man had expanded His assets, He said "And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry." (Lk12:19). Did you see that? The man wasn't living for any course anymore, He was living just for EATING. Friend, you should kno

Remember to call

Psalms  18:6 "In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears." Sometimes there are certain decisions made that just seem to be wrong. Sometimes, some of these decisions even get in the way of a particular 'achievement', nevertheless I have learnt and witnessed over time that with God there's always a way to success even in the tightest place. God is wise enough always to make situations turn out good always for those who trust in Him no matter how much they've messed up. The Psalmist above says something profound, He says "in my distress, I called upon the LORD...he heard my voice..." , the most important thing in that verse apart from the fact the psalmist calls unto God is the fact that GOD HEARD. This is simply remarkable, God ALWAYS hears the call of those who needs His help, much more His children. No matter the situation that seemingly wrong dec

Follow the light

John  8:12  "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." The world is typified as a room that's dark with treasures in it. As you know, if you walk in a dark room you don't know, you're most likely to stumble and fall due to the fact there's no light in there to help you see and locate your way. Life evolves always, and really no man can say to fully understand life except with God's influence and guidance. Jesus is the light of the world, He gives direction to a fulfilling and progressive life in the midst of a clear uncertain world. Many wrong decisions have been made in life due to lack of proper counsel, but with Jesus, you are sure to always make the right decisions as you journey in expectation of a glorious life.    Ranging from Finances, Marriage, Relationships, Business, you can trust the counsel of Christ to lead you to the right choic

Stay Persistent

Genesis  11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. One major attribute of achievers is persistence. The one attribute that moves God is persistence, Genesis 11:6 is a story that alludes to this. Some times, there is a temptation to check out of a vision, goal or plan, when there seems to be no result or progress, but the true conviction of your vision is persistence. While looking at a Rev. Chris Oyakhilome's throwback picture, it could honestly be told that if God wasn't going to even honour anything about this now Great Man of God, HE definitely was going to honour his persistence, Pastor Chris would later talk on how for many years He had just one heart cry, which was "to mend broken hearts", I must tell you persistence is the time for the fruit-ripening of a vision. You must stay on that vision, keep at it, keep workin

The Profit Maker

Psalms  144:1  Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: The above is a confession of David, who recognized God in his affairs. David was a man of war, so it could suffice to say he talked about God's blessings in his business(war).  You must always recognize God in your affairs, don't be a man/woman who prays to God about something, then is conscious more of the natural than the supernatural. If you'd involve God in your business, you should be supernatural conscious. Through study, I found out David wrote this Psalm in his prime days, meaning he wrote this Psalm while he was still an "agile King", so it was more of a confession of consciousness for him. That should be your story too, you can also consciously say everyday, ,"Blessed be God who teaches my hands to succeed & fingers to prosper in this business ". Its a confession of supernatural support. You're a success!. Happy Sunday... Do have a

Count the Cost

Luke  14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? I'd never forget a knowledge I got in my Economics class while I was in my Pre-degree programme in 2013. The lecturer asked "what comes first, consumption or production?", without any hesitation, everyone shouted " Production ". The lecturer looking at us unsatisfied with some subtle grin on his face, asked " why?" , a guy raised his hand confidently, got up and said " because we produce before consumption can take place", the lecturer laughed, and we all for a minute looked bemused with certain indistinct chatters here and there, after some minutes, the lecturer called the young man and asked "so what happens when you produce and there's no one to consume it", and for about some few seconds, there was a seeming silence in the hall, you could hear a pin drop. The loud silence was fol

Your lot in God

Psalms  16:6 "The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage." A man whose connected to God has a glorious heritage. Its an ancestry of greatness. King David in the understanding of this acclaimed that the lines are fallen unto him in pleasant places because he has a goodly heritage. 'Lines' here means portions, for example, if you were to share a land with someone, and the person took a part, and then you took another part, fortunately the part you now took, you discovered gold on that part of the land, you can say "the lines fell unto you in a pleasant place", meaning your portion of the land is a blessing. This is so incredible, its clear why Isaac dug and got water in a time of famine whereas others didn't. Friend, can this be true?. Yes it is!, emphatically yes!. A man connected to God has a glorious connection that makes things work for him. I always love that verse that says,  Daniel  11:32 "... but the peopl

Wisdom, Not a function of Age

Job  32:9 "Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment." Wisdom is a very essential ingredient in the meal of life. It has saved many from untimely death, wrong decisions, preserved lives, opened doors, and a host of many beneficial things. However, often identified with "age & experience" has become a seeming mystery in understanding. The scripture above gives a snippet into the proper understanding of it, it says " Great men are not always wise:neither do the aged understand judgement ", this means " wisdom is not a function of age". Checking the previous verse before Job32:9, you see the scriptures telling us what the inspiration of the Almighty does to the spirit of man. Wisdom is an influence of God on the human spirit. Wisdom is taking steps that God leads you to, there is no wisdom outside God. We see from the life of King Solomon that wisdom truly comes from God. So to walk in wisdom, you must first know God

You need Friends

Proverbs  18:24 "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." Growing up, I never really understood the concept of "Friendship". I mostly even thought to myself, what the need of having friends was. I had friends but I never really saw the importance of friendship, until I stumbled on this passage in my mid-teenage years, Oh! what light shun on my soul. Friendship is a beautiful thing, no man can ever say " He doesn't need friends", some people even say "I don't keep friends" , and then I laugh, it's one thing to say "you don't keep too many friends", it's another to say " you don't keep friends". To be a  successful person in life, you need people. Success is not attained until the people factor is in. When God blesses you with ideas, you definitely will need people to execute it with. God saw the need of a friend for Adam, hence Eve

No Attention😀

Proverbs  4:23 "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." As much as we are careful about what we say, I strongly believe we should be as much careful about what we hear. Words listened to are as much vital as words spoken. I remember having a conversation with someone some few years back, he said so many things which shook my belief system in Christ so much that for days, I felt a certain force trying to weigh me down from my shoulders down all over my body, I had to spend a specific time during the day to pray and remind myself of my experiences with Christ. I'd never forget that period of my life. Friend, you must guard your mind against certain words and conversations. As much as you stay careful about what you speak. Stay careful about what you hear. Jesus says ( Mark  4:24 )"...Take heed what ye hear:..." . Spend as much time in turning "deaf ears" to conversations that are not in line with your personality. The

In "THOUGHTAL" Control

2 Corinthians  10:5 "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ" "Thoughts are pictures of the mind with constructive or destructive possibilities which have power with the emotions"- Pastor Chris Oyakhilome You know, thoughts are so powerful. A Man's day can be ruined with a thought, even if the thought wasn't true. For instance, if you were a student, and a classmate of yours' came in and said, he just saw a result of yours' which you had an 'F', funny enough, even though if that classmate came to lie to you, that information already creates a thought of a 'carry-over' for you, EVEN IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE RESULT. You most likely might have a gloomy day with such NEWS. Friend, the scripture above tells you what to do with such thoughts, every thought that doesn't bring glory to you and God must be bro

Optimism

2 Kings  7:1  Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria. Optimism is one very important ingredient in every progress minded person. However, certain challenges and situations often times make it seem a little tough to stay optimistic. Nevertheless, a man who stays focused on the power of God to always make situations beautiful would always rise. The scripture above tells of a time in the history of Samaria where there was such an awkward famine, one that led to even people eating one another, however during such a nebulous quagmire, the Prophet Elisha gave a word from God that by the next day, there was going to be prosperity. It was quite hard to believe, someone even doubted, you should read the whole story yourself. Just the same way Samaria had a famine overturned, such is the power of God to turn in a sudden flas

DEFINED VALUE

John  3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." One of the first things God helps you do after receiving salvation is to build your value system. Truth is, if you don't see value in yourself, you won't see value in others. Your value system shows your response and relationship with people. The scripture above shows God's value system on every man. God gave His only begotten Son for every man, meaning that the life of every Man is worth the life of His begotten Son. Come to think of it, have you ever thought about the fact that every Man's life is worth the same as the life of Jesus?. You definitely won't go to a Grocery store to pay much more for something that's not worth so much, meaning if you were going to part with $5 for an item, its because the item is worth that much. Also, if God was going to "part" with Jesus to save every man,

Calm Down 😀

Proverbs  25:28  "He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls."      Tayo, a young promising man in his early 20s was on his way to get some groceries at the grocery store down the street when he saw another guy in a heated argument with his friend. In a bid to show solidarity, he runs down to "help" his friend, while trying to wade into the matter he forcefully pushes the other guy, a gutter was nearby, the guy slipped, and hit his head on an iron bar, and dies on the spot. Tayo never got to the grocery store or back home until after 15 years behind bars for manslaughter.   Self-control has been a reason many have preserved their liberty while others without exercising it have sold theirs'. In a world where many see calmness as a form of weakness and retaliation as strength, it takes one with wisdom to know how to live in peace. The scripture above posits who a man without self-control is like, He says "

Bold Decisions

Luke  15:12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. The story of the Prodigal Son in the Bible is well known for the illustration of mercy and forgiveness. However, there's a part we often times ignore, which is the fact that the Son had come of age in making a bold decision. Now, his decision wasn't wrong, his mode of lifestyle after his decision was made was the wrong thing. The elder brother never asked anything, as a matter of fact, the elder brother felt marginalized when he returned after squandering all the money bequeathed to him. Even the fatted calf which was fattened for a great occasion was killed at the 'Prodigal Son's' return. Reading the verse, 15:29 " And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friend

You can't please all men

Matthew  11:16 "But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,"  11:17 "And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented." One vital thing to know about life is, You cannot please everybody. It's such a ' painful ' truth. From the inception of creation, its never been recorded of a man who pleased all men, and most likely would not be recorded of any anytime soon. The scripture above further illustrates this as Jesus talks about the generation He termed as being "unsatisfied", in reading the next verse after verse 17, you'd find Jesus saying John the Baptist fasted, the people complained, He(Jesus) came eating and drinking, the people complained, so he made a figurative by saying " we have piped unto you, ye have not danced, we have mourned unto you, ye have not lamented". People generally al

Right Labour

Proverbs  23:4  Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.  When God created Adam, the first instruction given to Adam from God was to "manage", you could as well say Adam was the first ever Manager on Earth. A Manager adds value to preserve and influence for greater productivity. Man was created to add value through his value. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome says " work on being not on having, for with what you are, you would have", such a profound statement. God didn't create man to work for money, He created man to add value through his value. Adam was to add his value to manage the resources God left in charge of him. Well, you might say "But everyone has a job, and in my job, I clearly work so that I can make money" , well if you ever think you're working for money, that's a very wrong mindset, you don't work for money, you add value for money. No one in practical terms work for money, because if you work for money, it then means ever

EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

Ephesians  4:29 "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." Communication is a vital aspect of our everyday life. Everyone communicates daily with his/her sphere of contact. Businesses are carried out based on communication. Issues are resolved with communication. Relationships are built on communication. The dealings of communication with the world on a daily basis are enormous. However, as great as communication is, there can be bad/corrupt communication. The scripture above illustrates the importance of the right kind of communication from the mouth. Any communication that is done with negative words will never have a lasting impact. For example, how do you seal a deal with a client using negative words?. Would that work?, and even if it did, will such client return again?. Corrupt communication definitely have no room in the daily life of a positive & progressive

Friendship

Proverbs  18:24  "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." Have you ever heard someone say, "I don't have friends" or "I don't keep friends". Well, the answer to such statement is on the scriptural context above. Everything in life works with the seed principle. If you must be loved, you must sow love to others, if you must be blessed, you must bless others, if you must have friends, you must be friendly to others. The scripture above shows a man must be friendly with others to have friends. Friendship is very important, in the days of need ,you'd always need someone to rely on , or someone to rely on you. God created a social world, everyone needs somebody. No matter how valid your dreams are, you'd always need people to achieve them. Friends are important to dream fulfillment. However the fact that there are bad friends doesn't negate or nullify the importance of fr

Live It!!!

Joshua  1:8 "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." Developing a lifestyle that's consistent with the contents of your dreams is the first step to achieving them, what you don't live, you don't be. The above scripture text was God's charge to the Israelites when He brought them out of Egypt, however rather than God just telling the Israelites to keep the book of the law in their mouths, He actually was impressing a lifestyle upon them, He was introducing them into a lifestyle of living what you desire, living what you want. He said to them in the latter part of that verse "...that you may observe to DO ALL that's written in it". The truth is this, no matter how valid your dreams are, a life that deviates from living in the patte
