Happy last day of the year

Ezra  3:11 "And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid." The scripture above tells about the gratitude story of the Israelites shortly after the foundation of the Temple was laic which Ezra supervised. The building would later be completed, but they all thanked God for the foundation. This is quite remarkable. They didn't wait for the building to be completed before praising and thanking God. This is instructive. Thanksgiving should come at every stage of our lives. As we end the year 2020, I implore you to take out time to reflect and thank God as we enter into 2021. 2020 indeed was a great year and sure we all have lots to be thankful for. Going into 2021, begin to thank God for all that will happen, you don't have to wait for the yea

Dreams never die

Joel  2:28  "...your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:" One of the most awe-striking piece I ever found in the Bible is the story of Moses before his call to deliver Israel. Think about this, Moses had a passion, a dream to deliver his people from oppression, he tried so hard doing it as a Youth, but nothing happened, in fact he fled Egypt. Now many years later, at the age of 80 when Moses was getting ready to retire in life, taking care of Sheep, He then hears this same God He must have felt should have helped him achieve his dream while younger call him to come and achieve that same dream, I want to believe, Moses must have been a little disappointed, hence he gave numerous excuses of not wanting to go anymore, if God came while he was younger, he most likely wouldn't have given any excuse. This is just so incredible, the scripture above says "...your old men shall dream dreams". Friend, what I've found in scriptures and life

Built to shine!

Proverbs  4:18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. As a Christian, you must recognize the path that's been carved for you. As you journey in the affairs or your life, you must come into the consciousness that your path is one that's lit up. Your path shines. However, the presence of challenges is not the absence of light. Do not confuse challenges for problems. Jesus had challenges while on earth, Paul had same, David had same, Elijah had same, etc Nevertheless, these are people who had beautiful lives as they journeyed the face of the Earth. Challenges are a stepping stone to victories and testimonies. Did you ever play a computer game that required you to scale through numerous obstacles to get to the next level, you understand that joy you experience when you get into a new level😁.   As you journey into your day, let your challenges be a springboard into an avalanche of glorious testimonies for you, because th

Be accommodating.

Hebrews  13:2  "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." Some people are often clouded with the habit of being nice to just who they know, some even say "the devil you know is better than the angel you don't know", even if it's used in a figurative context, it's still ironically hilarious😅, the very fact he's been declared 'the devil' makes him worse than 'the angel' you don't know already. The scripture above gives God's perfect mindset to our daily relationship with the outside world. It says 'BE NOT FORGETFUL to ENTERTAIN STRANGERS', it then says for some have entertained ANGELS UNAWARES. Did you see that?, the Bible shows that the 'Angel' you do not know would always be better than the 'devil' you know. As a Person who walks in God's stead, you must be nice to everyone, you must entertain strangers, 'entertain strangers' doesn't

Stay thankful

1 Thessalonians  5:18 "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." God is good. He does good. There is no iota of wickedness in Him towards man. You know, a lot of people often times ask, "well, if God is good, why does He allow wicked things happen since He is omnipotent?". Some even make up their minds to just say, "God is just God, not necessarily good". Well, the answer to such questions I give to others is that God created the world but He's left it in the affairs of men, nevertheless creating standards for the world to revolve round. " God doesn't endorse wickedness, but the wicked would always meet their waterloo", which means He is good and therefore protects His own. So, a wise man would always give thanks to God for His goodness. God is good, it's not a cliché, it's a fact. He makes "good" the standard for the world. Irrespective of whatever happens, the good alway

Forgive always.

Matthew  6:14  For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:    Matthew  6:15  But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.  Forgiveness is an aspect of the life of every man. Everyone at every point in time would have to forgive someone or be forgiven by someone. However, as easy as it sounds, most people find it hard to come to terms with this. What really is Forgiveness? Forgiveness is "letting someone off a matter" where you were wronged. It really isn't about the person pacifying you, but you "letting the person go" as though the person never offended you in the first place.  There are times people do hurtful and despicable things towards us, and they don't even recognize their wrongs towards us talk less of apologizing, and then this stirs up a well of hatred towards such people. Sometimes, these people recognize these wrongs and for one reason or the other do not

Merry Christmas!

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."(Isa9:6 ) It's that time of the year again where we celebrate the greatest impact that ever happened to the world, the birth of Christ. The birth of Christ was for a purpose. His birth heralded a " new world order". Prior to the birth of Jesus, Man had sinned and fallen short of God's glory and blessings, however the coming of Christ was to atone for that fall and restore man to God's original plan, much more than restoring to God's plan, was making Man God's direct reproduction. So Christ came for a purpose, He came for the world. He came to die for men. So He really wasn't the reason for His coming, the world was the reason for His coming, You and I were His reason for coming. So it's safe to say "He really is not the rea

Abundance, never an avenue for wastage!

John 6:12(NIV) " When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, "Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted." " When you study the scriptures carefully, you'd notice God has a strong opposition to waste, nevertheless He is a God of abundance, yet He still doesn't tolerate waste. The scripture above is the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes, after He had fed the people with the bread and fish, the Bible records there were still 12 baskets left, now naturally anybody who just witnessed such miracle could just have apathy towards the left over, but Jesus immediately tells the disciples to pack the left over, God would not allow any waste, this was an immediate caution from God to them to never tolerate any space for waste. The disciples must have thought to themselves, "we've eaten to our full, what do we need these fragments for again?" But God wasn't going to give room for

Your Social Currency

Genesis  39:6  "And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured." I was thinking yesterday, and I thought to myself "Money doesn't really buy everything", there are some things purchased with " Favour", and this is so true. A perfect example of this would be Joseph, a man who clearly navigated his journey with nothing else but "Favour". A car may cost N8.5 million, but that car also costs " Favour ", a Phone may cost N150,000 but that Phone also costs " Favour".  Favour is a direct alternative to the cost of anything. However, Favour is a product of an influence of someone over another, this influence most times is unintentional, sometimes can be intentional, but the most important thing is that it is an influence. Your good labor over people is a seed in their lives, the labor of other people over you is a

Separated to blessings

Psalms  16:6 "The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage."  A man whose connected to God has a glorious heritage. Its an ancestry of greatness. King David in the understanding of this acclaimed that the lines are fallen unto him in pleasant places because he has a goodly heritage. 'Lines' here means portions, for example, if you were to share a land with someone, and the person took a part, and then you took another part, fortunately the part you now took, you discovered gold on that part of the land, you can say "the lines fell unto you in a pleasant place", meaning your portion of the land is a blessing. This is so incredible, its clear why Isaac dug and got water in a time of famine whereas others didn't. Friend, can this be true?. Yes it is!, emphatically yes!. A man connected to God has a glorious connection that makes things work for him.  The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, yea! I have a glorious

Don't journey into unbelief.

Matthew  6:7 "But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking." Have you ever had someone tell you to do something, and you said 'no', then the person tried to convince you with much speaking afterwards, and then you probably told the person, ''dear, no matter how much convincing you do, I'm still not doing that thing ". That becomes a root decision, no longer surface, it becomes a decision you take not because of that person but because of who you are.  This is the exact scenario our scriptural context talks about. Don't find yourself journeying into unbelief, when you pray or ask God for something, don't believe talking too long about it to God will convince God to grant your request, when you ask once, believe it's done, and then stay in faith, however you can still talk about that same thing later to God not as a request but a communication of thanksgiving

Be a voice for Christ!!!

Acts  4:12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. I once heard a preacher say "if you don't know Jesus on Earth, when you die, who would you say you're looking for at Heaven's gate?". It was quite a touching statement. Some things are just what they are, no matter how much we try to 'sugarcoat' God's love, the scriptures still maintains, there is no other name given amongst men for them to be saved(from eternal damnation) except the name of "Jesus". So this gives an understanding, that the name of Jesus is beyond just the name of the Son of God, but also the only name that guarantees God's saving power. The name of Jesus is God's saving power. You know, I've been asked countless times by people, are Christians the only ones to make Heaven?, and I've always pointed out John14:6 without any stutter. True Christianity is an extremist ideolog

Be sensitive

John  4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. The above text is the popular story of  the occurrence between Jesus and the Samaritan woman. So much to draw from this occurrence, but amidst all that can be drawn is the fact that God Almighty was with this woman face to face, and yet she didn't know. This woman had so many questions to ask God, she told Jesus this. John  4:25 "The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things."    Amazing! She had questions for God, but she never knew she was talking with God. This still happens to most people, sometimes you get answers to your inner cravings not by what  or how you expect. We must be sensitive to answers to our prayers, sometimes answers may come not by how we expect but another way, we must be

Pay any price for inspiration!!!

Proverbs  23:23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding" My Pastor back on campus once said something profound, he said "Pay any price for inspiration", as simple as this statement is, it carries a lot of power and even being backed up by the scriptures itself. Inspiration is very important, most often times, people laugh off those who inspire others through teachings or experiences. Some times, people even take a jab at " motivational speakers ", saying " well, all they know how to do is talk", well, do you know inspiration isn't found everywhere?. Have you heard a fool speak?, the Bible talks about staying away from those you perceive foolishness from their lips. The fact you see someone inspiring others doesn't mean he/she is a talkative, some people are specially gifted of God to inspire others because God has set an aspect of Man's journey in life to be triggered by INSPIRATION. Inspiration i

The Best Teacher!

John  16:13  "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." Our choices often times are characterized by two things; 1. Our past experiences, 2. An inner conviction. Now, a lot of people often times use the phrase "Experience is the best teacher" to show reasons behind their decisions, however though experience is a 'teacher', however it's not the best teacher. Even if you had a nasty experience concerning something, your decision should not be fully drafted because of a negative experience. There are instances where a negative experience concerning something later yielded positive results when given a final chance. Now, God has a better plan for us when it comes to making choices, the scripture above tells of who God has sent into the world; "the Holy Spirit", Jesus said "... He w

Mind your business

1 Thessalonians  4:11  "And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;" One of the hallmarks of successful people is focus & minding their businesses. A lot of times people spend time intruding or prying to others' affairs, some say "I'm not gossiping but I just feel we should talk about what this person is doing". I love a particular instance in the scriptures where Jesus perfectly demonstrated minding one's business,  Luke  12:14 "And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?".  As a man on a journey of greatness, you don't need to meddle into the affairs of others, however this doesn't mean you keep quiet when others are suffering injustice, but when its got to do with other people's matter and your opinion isn't sought, stay away and focus on your own work. A man who has time to meddle into other people's affairs will not ha

Follow the light

John  8:12  "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." The world is typified as a room that's dark with treasures in it. As you know, if you walk in a dark room you don't know, you're most likely to stumble and fall due to the fact there's no light in there to help you see and locate your way. Life evolves always, and really no man can say to fully understand life except with God's influence and guidance. Jesus is the light of the world, He gives direction to a fulfilling and progressive life in the midst of a clear uncertain world. Many wrong decisions have been made in life due to lack of proper counsel, but with Jesus, you are sure to always make the right decisions as you journey in expectation of a glorious life.    Ranging from Finances, Marriage, Relationships, Business, you can trust the counsel of Christ to lead you to the right choic

Thanksgiving: Password to More

Mark  8:6  And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people. Thanksgiving is a channel to abundance. When we give thanks to God of even thank someone who does us a favour, we are positioned to even receive more. There are many instances in scriptures which show the benefits of giving thanks. The scripture above is one of such, Jesus needed to feed a multitude, a numbering of 5000 men, without the women even counted yet, all He had before Him were 5 loaves of bread, and 2 fishes. He then took these and gave thanks, and then the Bible records, the multitude ate, and ate to the full. This is so remarkable! Multiplication comes when Thanksgiving is activated. No matter how the Year has been, when you give thanks, there sure will be a manifold manifestation of something new. Learn to give thanks, learn to appreciate God even for the very lit

Increase your strength

Proverbs  24:10  If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. Isaiah  40:29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. There is no task too hard to achieve, however a task becomes tough when STRENGTH is void. The greater the task, the greater the strength needed. Strength is the ability/capacity for staying-in and surmounting tasks. There are times we all feel we need that extra strength to push on to face challenges. The scriptures above tells what happens when there is no strength and yet how to increase strength. The fact you feel weak doesn't mean you're weak, all you need is to add more strength, accepting you're weak to face a challenge or do a task is a state on its own, and borrowing from Pastor Chris Oyakhilome's words, "until you change a man's thinking, you cannot change his state...", so refuse to accept you're weak even when you feel weak, all you need do is pray the Lord who inc

Silence is golden!

Proverbs  17:28 Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding . Silence, sometimes is wisdom. Not every situation needs an oral response. There are battles or contentions won with silence. When I was younger, I always responded to every situation orally, but as I grew up, and understood the dimensions of wisdom , I recognized not all situations needed an oral response. I remember a particular incidence while younger, there was an altercation between someone and I, I  gave him a "piece of my mind", I really replied his taunts with words, harsh words. Now, many years later, I look back, and I'm so furious I had to even reply, silence in such situation was the winning edge. Sometimes, you win a tussle with silence. Silence isn't necessarily stupidity, it is golden, it is wise. Not all situations require words from you. Do have a great weekend ahead. (Daily Nuggets with Tobi Adebayo )

Dividends of loyalty

2 Samuel  9:1 And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?  In an age where everyone wants to be identified with "success", there seems to be the temptation to not want to be identified with any relationship perceived not to be heading towards 'success'. However, while it's good to associate with purpose driven people, it should also be noted that not everyone is at the same speed of reaching 'success' as the world measures it. True friendship is a test of any circumstance. The text above is a story of the true friendship between David and Jonathan at childhood level which would later culminate into indebtedness. David, having now being a King sought someone of Jonathan's household to show kindness, even though Jonathan was late, the friendship He and David shared wasn't late, David would call Melphibosheth and have him sit at the King's table. Such a story of true f

Stay good!

Romans  12:21  "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."  In our society today, it's very easy to have a bad attitude than a good one. The society has a default programming of infusing its inhabitants with a bad attitude. Those raised in godly homes with good training and values oftentimes are faced with the vileness of the society. Now, it's left for one to either accept to be negatively influenced or maintain such godly values. The scripture above says to overcome evil with good not the other way round. The truth is that good has more power than evil, however evil is more rampant amongst men, that's why it seems as though evil is more powerful than good. If a good man will stand up against evil, evil will begin to lose its potency. Good will always prevail, the Bible clearly states this. So if you've got a good character, and it seems you're pressured to do the biddings of evil to probably get something you desire, don't be swayed int

Stay Resilient

Proverbs  13:12  "Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life." Dreams do come true. Expectations do manifest. A desire well followed to the end yields result if not jettisoned prematurely. Taking a look at the recent success of both the English Premier League Champions, Liverpool and the English Championship Champions, Leeds United. Both teams share very similar story in their quest to their recent victory, they would both talk about how for years they never stopped working on themselves, taking lessons from previous seasons on why it didn't work, but finally both teams clinch their respective league titles after about over 20 years for one and 16 years for the other. Friend, these things aren't just mere happenings, they do show the power of consistency supported with resilience. Being dogged is a prerequisite to any form of victory, you don't give up because it didn't work, if you believe in it, you'd stick to

Your ability

Philippians  4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Christ is a person and also a place. When you become a Christian, you receive a person and also at the same time, you come into a place, A place called Christ. In this place, i.e in Christ, lies all possibility and ability. You must understand as a Christian that whatever business or job you do, it must yield increase because Christ is also in that business as long as its a business that's in line with God's will. You have come to a place called Christ, this is a place where prosperity and endless possibilities are domiciled. Christ gives you the advantage and ace in your business sphere. In your job, you have the extra benefit. Nevertheless, this doesn't suggest any mindset of indolence on your path. You must put in effort to have the extra edge you have being manifest. Inculcate this mindset as you continue on your work, and know that all things are possible as long as Christ is wit

Seek insight.

Proverbs 20:5 "The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out." (NIV) Purpose gives credence to living. Nevertheless, it's not always easy sometimes in the journey to achieve purpose. The scriptures gives the picture of one who has purposes on the inside, one who is living for a cause. It says they are like "deep waters", but one who has " insight" draws them out. "Insight" here means information, it means the technical know-how a man has over another. The distance between purpose and purpose fulfillment will always be Insight. The Bible says "Go for wisdom", this is " insight". No dream can be fully actualized without proper information and insight. It says "...one who has insight draws them out". You must go for more information.   Also, when you get information, treat it with so much value, if you must part with information to another man, part with it AT A COST. If

Do not be an object of pity

Luke  23:28 But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. Sometimes, people respond to you based on what they feel about a particular situation you're in or their opinion of an 'unfavorable' situation they perceive you to be in. While it's good to have people concerned about you, it's another to have people look at you with needless empathy. Needless empathy can often times lead to a depressed state of the recipient. No matter how tough the challenge(s) you face is/are, you must stay secure in your confidence and optimism. The last thing you ever need is needless or excessive empathy. Do not accept to be an object of pity. The scripture above shows the travails of Jesus before His crucifixion, seeing so much pain and agony He faced, the women around Him wept, and also with some form of concern and empathy for him, then Jesus spoke out and told them not to weep for Him. This is figurative,

Value exchange

Matthew  7:6  "...neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." Everyday of your life should be geared towards improving yourself, and as you improve yourself, you should also NOT shortchange yourself. A major challenge that holds in our world today is many don't understand the difference between self-confidence and pride. Pride and Self-confidence are two totally different things. As you develop yourself, you should exchange your value for nothing less, it doesn't matter how you're looked at, its not pride, its called self-confidence. Jesus says "cast not your pearls before swine" meaning do not give precious things to don't who don't value it. You must exchange value for value. You must give value to those when understand what you're bringing to the table, do not shortchange yourself. If you would discipline yourself to add value to yourself, you can discipline yourself no

Moses, Moses, Moses, well you could understand him.😅 Well, this is quite incredible, the scripture above says "...your old men shall dream dreams

The perfect example!

"And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour." Ephesians  5:2  Christianity is a life of love. I reckon the power of God never flows without love in action. The scriptures talk about how Jesus taught His disciples on the right "sacrifice",   Matthew  5:23 "Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;  5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.". I remember the first time I ever saw this scripture, it demystified my understanding of God as just a Spirit, I found out that God really is a person, one who wants peace amongst all men, He says no matter what gift you bring to Him, if you're not right or in right terms with another person your gift will not be accepted. Hmmmnn, could this be the reason why many at
